Sarah “Barracuda” Palin Has Only Lipstick but No Heart

Pixie dustCan you believe the pixie dust the Republican party is sprinkling in the faces of the right wingers with this election? Neither can I. Who would have believed a 72 year old Vietnam war vetran who is so wealthy he can’t even remember how many houses he owns would be trying to put a liberal spin on his ticket by appealing to voters by using cultural music icons.

Forget the fact that McCain and Palin used Van Halen’s “Right Now” at Palin’s coming out party.

Forget the fact that Republican leaders have been locking rock-n-rollers in prison for smoking marijuana since the 1970’s.

Forget the fact the conservative right has always stood firmly for “family values” and against sex, drugs and rock-n-roll.

Forget the fact the Republican party has absolutely nothing in common with the freedom musicians have been singing about for over four decades.

Forget the fact Jimi, Janis and Jerry are rolling over in their graves thinking the conservatives are suddenly trying to be “hip” because their precious “white America” is about to become a shade or two darker.

Forget all that and remember that there are some musicians who believe in their message.

Ann and Nancy Wilson of the 1970’s super group Heart have publicly requested that the McCain/Palin campaign cease and desist from using their hit song “Barracuda” at political fundraisers and rallies for the Republican ticket. The sisters released a statement at EW.com :

“Sarah Palin’s views and values in NO WAY represent us as American women. We ask that our song ‘Barracuda’ no longer be used to promote her image. The song ‘Barracuda’ was written in the late 70s as a scathing rant against the soulless, corporate nature of the music business, particularly for women. (The ‘barracuda’ represented the business.) While Heart did not and would not authorize the use of their song at the RNC, there’s irony in Republican strategists’ choice to make use of it there.”

Ironicly, “” was the nickname of in her high school days, not given to her because she liked to eat smaller fish in the pond but given to her because of her intense high-school basketball play. Hmmm.. women’s basketball ?? I bet she could beat at hoops with those tree trunk legs of hers. If not, she could pop out a few more babies from the baby machine and start her own NBA team.

McCain Has Senior Moment - Can’t Remember How Many Houses He Owns

John McCain had a senior moment on Wednesday when he said “that he was uncertain how many houses he and his wife, Cindy, own.”

“I think — I’ll have my staff get to you,” McCain said. “It’s condominiums where — I’ll have them get to you.” McCain responded in an interview with Politico.

Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine poked fun at the sheer lunacy of McCain’s statement saying “He couldn’t answer that question. He couldn’t count high enough, apparently, to even know how many houses he owns.”

The real question is, how can the American people take McCain’s economic outlook seriously? The Republican presidential is obviously so out of touch with reality and the American people that he’s

For anybody who thinks McCain has the interests of the American working class on what’s left of his mind, here’s a video entitled McCain’s Mansions which was released last week by Brave New Films and SEIU…

’s trashy ad campaigns keep stating that ’s policies are a recipe for economic disaster but in reality it is McCain who is a human disaster because he obviously has no clue about the economic hardships facing millions of Americans since his oil worshiping contemporaries took office almost eight years ago.

Obama Slams Bush Administration

Following President ’s State of the Union address last night, Sen. proceeded to slam the Bush administration saying Bush was full of “empty rhetoric” and also stating “I do not believe history will judge his administration kindly.”

You have to give Obama credit where credit is due. The guy really knows how to light a fire and he’s constantly proving he’s not going to back down from anybody, especially George Bush and his corrupt administration. Last night’s speech from Bush was rehash of his empty promises made year after year and each year into the Bush administration the economy has continued to worsen. The majority of Americans feel disenfranchised by the current administration and promises of Bush cutting more taxes only helps the wealthy leaving the middle class to foot the bills. In the meantime, the honest Americans who make up the middle class are finding themselves deeper in debt and working endless hours to make ends meet.
